Vehicle GST ITC

by Sharon
(Manitoba)

We have recently purchased a couple of used vehicles for our business. How and where do I input the tax (GST) that was charged on the vehicles?

Do I get to claim this back?

I use Quickbooks if that makes any difference.

Thank you very much for your help.

Hi Sharon,

There are special and strict rules for claiming input tax credits on vehicles. Take a look at my article on How to Claim Input Tax Credits Relating to Business Use of Your Personal Vehicle.

Also check out forum posts relating to Vehicles. Scroll down to the bottom of the page.

If you still have questions after looking through the information, post back here and I'll be more than happy to try and clarify whatever isn't "sticking".
