Computer Capital Cost Allowance (CCA) Tax Deduction
100% Writeoff Rule For IT StuffI am planning to purchase a new computer for my business. I want to take advantage of the small business deduction (sole proprietor) for upgrading/expanding computer equipment.
I have heard that the deadline has changed to Dec 31/10 from Jan 31/11.
Would you please advise me of the final date the purchase can be made and still be eligible for the 100% deduction announced in 2009.

Hi Bob,
I don't think your information is correct.
On the CRA website home page, you will see an icon (see the picture above) explaining the tax cut.
When you click on the picture, you arrive on a page explaining all the tax cuts available under the government stimulus program.
The computer write-off tax deduction information states:
"The accelerated capital cost allowance (CCA) for eligible computers announced in the 2009 budget allows businesses to claim 100% of computer costs (including systems software) purchased after January 27, 2009 and before midnight, January 31, 2011."Click here for
