Year-End Question

If my year end is Sept 30th, then my question is this -- Does Sept 30th 2016 represent my YEAR-END for 2015???

I am always so confused by this - as the bulk of the entries for the current (calendar) year -end falls is to be included within the year-end for the previous year..

Susan, your 2015 fiscal year runs from October 1, 2014 to September 30, 2015.

Your 2016 fiscal year runs from October 1, 2015 to September 30, 2016.

Your 2017 fiscal year runs from October 1, 2016 to September 30, 2017.

If you get confused you might want to name some of your documents / folders 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 and 2016-2017 just to help you keep figure out the period you are working in.
